You will notice that there are changes to the grading of walks in the programmes from 1 May 2004. This is in response to a discussion at a recent Walk Leaders meeting as to whether walks should be graded by pace or by terrain. To satisfy both camps your committee recommend the following: -
Pace. Three grades only, e.g.
B=Brisk, M=Moderate, L=Leisurely.
Terrain. Indicated in lower case, e.g.
a = average
f = flat
h = hilly, hh = very hilly or steep hill
s = stiles (more than a few) ss = (lots)
