This footpath runs from Footpath 1A Fair Oak to the south west of Wyvern School south to Firtree Lane. The section through woods at the northern end has a boardwalk built to overcome the muddy surface caused by extensive use. Now further problems are occurring along the route which will be worsened by the winter months. These sections need to be surfaced with base coarse or gravel to form an all weather route. See pictures below which illustrate the problems.

This path runs from Allington Lane westward to the south of Lake Farm to the Parish Boundary. It was diverted in part by the Eastleigh Borough Council (Fair Oak Footpath No 12) Public Path Diversion Order 1991 an extract from the plan attached to the Order is below. The route A-D was stopped up and the Route B-C-D created by the Order. On 10 September 2007 nearly all the B-C-D route was overgrown to the extent that passage was no longer possible and halfway between B and C overhanging and fallen tree branches obstruct the path. This problem was reported to Hampshire County Council on 10 September 2007 (Reference No. 111000008492). Since then the surface of the path has been cleared of vegetation. However on the section D-C a hedge of Leylandi has been planted immediately to the west of the path which together with brambles encroach on more than half the width of the path which is defined on both sides by fences. In the section C-B no attempt has been made whilst clearing the surface of the path to cut back the overhanging and fallen trees. Further work is required as at 12 January 2008. Photographs below illustrate the problems.

Situation at 10 September 2007. The footpath runs between the fence on the left and the hedge on the right and is completely obstructed by the Willow tree which is also visible in the background of the picture below.

Situation above and below on 12 January 2008

Situation at 10 September 2007. This is the stile at Point D. If you were to get over the stile into the undergrowth the path goes to the right between fences and is completely obstructed by vegetation.
Situation as at 12 January 2008 - Situation much improved but no attempt has been made to cut back the hedge shown on the two photographs below.
